Caro Cruys, APSW, PhD Candidate

Caro has worked in the mental health field since 2014 and has been a clinical social worker since 2018. They work with adolescents and adults experiencing a variety of emotional and social concerns, including eating disorders, depression, anxiety, trauma, gender and sexual identity development, and substance abuse. Caro utilizes Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Narrative Therapy, and mindfulness, along with other approaches as needed, to support each person where they are now and with the goals they aim to reach. As a queer and nonbinary person, Caro has a particular interest in working with other queer and transgender folks or those exploring their gender and sexual identities.

Caro received their MSW from Augsburg University in 2018 and is currently completing their doctoral degree in Social Welfare at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Their research focuses on the relational and sexual health and well-being of queer and transgender folks, particularly adolescents. Caro is a certified sexual health educator, certified yoga instructor (200 hour training), and has facilitated individual and group mindfulness meditation sessions.
