What made you decide to go into this specialty:
Eating disorders have tightly intertwined biological and psychological components that are complex and often buried. It is humbling working with this population as it stretches my ability to understand, empathize, and problem solve in ways that are not textbook defined.
In addition, our society often promotes disordered eating behaviors. As such, supporting those in recovery challenges me to work against our society’s diet-culture norms and advocate for those affected by this rhetoric. My goal is to give support and structure during this very transformative and vulnerable time in one’s life.
